MHMC Latest Storm Update

30 October 2012

Meadowlands Hospital Medical Center (MHMC) sustained the onslaught that Hurricane Sandy brought with hard work and perseverance. Overnight, we had one delivery, two patients with head traumas, one patient with a fractured hip and numerous minor injuries. Our doctors at our Alternate Care Site (ACS) in West New York treated ten patients. As of 8:30am, MHMC closed its ACS in West New York. Our ACS in Secaucus remains open and operational.

Presently, MHMC employees remain on lock-down. We have ER physicians, a cardiologist, an internist, a pediatrician, general surgeon, orthopedic surgeon, gastroenterologist, anesthesiologist, radiologist and Women's Healthat the hospital ready to service any emergency patients and we are doubling our ER capacity to 20 bays by expanding into PACU. MHMC remains on generator power, and our EMS is servicing all community 911 calls.
