Meadowlands Hospital Opens Education Center
MHMC has opened its new state-of-the-art Education Center. The new facility has an abundance of experienced, well-versed faculty from an array of different medical backgrounds, and offers training for medical professionals in both the pre-hospital and in-hospital environments. The center is structured to adhere to the cardiac training standards set forth by the American Heart Association, and has been named one of its certified training sites. This certification ensures that all students receive the most up-to-date basic and advanced cardiac training.
Courses at the Education Center include Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, CPR, Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), International Trauma Life Support (ITLS), and Coaching the Emergency Vehicle Operator™ (CEVO). For the Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and Paramedics, the center will also offer monthly continuing education courses. The training center is also equipped to offer on-site training to corporations interested in expanding their employees’ emergency preparedness. For more information on the Education Center, representatives are available from 9am to 5pm at 201-250-4626.
Through the center, MHMC will also continue to offer its free, hands-on CPR classes for Secaucus residents. The class, held monthly at the Secaucus Public Library, will help individuals and families be prepared in the case of an emergency. To register for the CPR course, interested residents should call the Secaucus Department of Health at 201-330-2031.
