“I had such a great experience at the Meadowlands Hospital! From ER Registration to nurses, anesthesiologist to my doctor – everyone was very professional and nice but most importantly caring! This is what makes this hospital great!"
— Emma R., Meadowlands Hospital Same Day Surgery Patient, May 2017

“MHMC Staff made me feel comfortable and at ease at all times. Nurses always made sure my bed was made and cleaned. I never knew hospital food could be so good. Great meals! Nurses were helpful – amazing staff. For my first C-section, there is no way I could have done it without my nurses. Thank you. Nurses made sure I was in no pain and kept up with me as much as possible. Everyone was friendly and polite. Staff made me feel like family and they honestly cared. At first I was very nervous because it was my first time in this hospital – after my experience I will recommend this hospital to everyone. One of the best hospitals I have ever been to – please keep up the good work!”

Meadowlands Hospital Medical Center Third Annual 5K Run/Walk

23 October 2013

On Sunday September 29, the Meadowlands Hospital Medical Center hosted its third Annual 5K Run/Walk, which benefited the American Heart Association and its ongoing mission of research and awareness of various cardiovascular diseases and stroke. The event was held on a picture perfect fall morning with warm temperatures and bright sunshine. The hospital welcomed nearly 85 participants, and raised almost $7,500 with race fees and sponsorships for the American Heart Association! Participants of the race included hospital employees as well as the local community in Secaucus and towns even as far away as Succasunna, New Jersey! Woodrow Wilson Arts Integrated School in Weehawken had their 8th grade class participate to reinforce the school’s mission of healthy living.

A three-mile course was set up along the Meadowlands Parkway with the help of Secaucus fire and police officials. The course was also a certified USATF course mentioned as “fast and flat,” which gave many running enthusiasts no trouble completing the course in record time. The participants who walked the race felt accomplished when they crossed the finish line. A group picture followed by an award ceremony for overall winners and age group categories finished the event on this great day.

The first place winner of the race was Jose Veras from Jersey City who ran an impressive race time of 16:52.4 with Felix Olivo from Carteret who came in less than a minute after at 17:28.7! Our third place overall winner was Paulo Oliveria who ran an 18.37.0 race. Some of our top female finishers were Monica Tilani from Secaucus who ran a 23:32.6 and Amisa Padnani from Secaucus who ran the three mile course in 27:36.8. Abel Verdecio, an Environmental Services aide was the fastest employee of Meadowlands Hospital Medical Center with a time of 25:32.3. The youngest and fastest finisher in the 11-19 year old group was Jose Casabanda from Union City with a time of 23.33.3. Meadowlands Hospital would like to congratulate all of the winners and all of the participants of the race. Crossing the finish line is always a great feeling!

The Medical Center could not have been more appreciative of the immense number of donations and the amount of support that the community has given to make the event a great success. Many local businesses and vendors as well as local organizations helped the efforts of MHMC create a great day of fun for the whole family.

With the help of the Secaucus Fire and Police Departments, the 5K Run/Walk was safe and we cannot thank them enough for all of their support.

MHMC would like to thank all of our Silver Sponsors, which include North American Partners in Anesthesia and Reproductive Medicine Associates of New Jersey. The Bronze Sponsors include the Meadowlands Hospital Medical Staff, Minuteman Press of Secaucus, and Kiwanis Club of Secaucus. More bronze sponsors include Menco Business Products, Tichenor Electric LLC, Robert Milligan, ESQ., Crothall Healthcare Inc. and Pegasus Emergency Group/MHMC.

The Meadowlands Hospital would also like to thank the number of hospital staff and volunteers that gave their own time to help in the many activities of the day – helping register racers, taking pictures of each participant as they crossed the finish line, working as time keepers, and manning a complimentary refreshment table during and at the end of the race. All of your hard work and dedication helped the event became a great success!

Although you may not have received a medal, you are all winners in our book! The Meadowlands Hospital Medical Center is looking forward to all participants returning next year and would like more people to spend this special day with us once again.

At Meadowlands Hospital Medical Center, we always wish for your good health. Please feel free to contact us or call us at 201-392-3100 for any health related concerns.
