Meadowlands Hospital Community Advisory Board Announces 3 Year Anniversary
In an effort to spread the news about what Meadowlands Hospital was doing since being sold to new owners in December, 2010, the Secaucus facility contacted local mayors to request that they select pertinent public figures from their municipalities to serve on the hospital’s newly formed Community Advisory Board. The purpose of the Board was to provide input to the Board of Directors of Meadowlands Hospital on health issue topics and the process of delivering health care to the communities surrounding the hospital. The CAB will assist in assessing and identifying local health needs and offer guidance regarding the quality of care in the neighborhoods it serves. The members of the Board will be well informed so they can be representatives of the hospital in their respective towns and communicate the goals and objectives of Meadowlands Hospital. The Board meets 5-6 times a year and invites managers and physicians of the hospital to its meetings to speak about projects and events that the hospital is creating and participating in. The Board’s first meeting was on Tuesday, March 29th, 2011.
The Board, which consists of local governmental officials, business owners and community leaders, represents areas such as Secaucus, North Bergen, Union City and East Rutherford. The President of CAB is John Reilly, a respected former Deputy Mayor of Secaucus who grew up in Union City. The Board also consists of original members Larry Minda, East Rutherford Chief of Police, Michael Doyle, owner of M. Doyle Real Estate in Secaucus, and Emilio Del Valle from Hudson County Sherriff’s Office and Union City community leader. Other members include Janet Castro and Kim Nicoliello from North Bergen Department of Health and Lisa Snedecker, Social Services Director of Secaucus. The Board also includes staff members of Meadowlands Hospital including Acting President and CEO Lynn McVey, Marketing Director Marat Rysmendiev and Community Services Coordinator Sabina Sanchez.
